Programming Philosophy

Utility is open 7 days a week with the hope that we’re making class times available to more people.  Out of those 7 days we program workouts for 6 days, with Sunday being Open Gym.  This presents an interesting situation for designing workouts.  Rest days are an integral part of any physical fitness program, Crossfit is no exception.  Please take rest days as you need them.

Most days of the week there is a “lift or skill” and a “WOD” programmed.  Some might say this is too much to fit into one hour.  I disagree.  Everyone is different, and everyone has a different tolerance to training volume.  We will work together to safely improve your GPP-General Physical Preparedness.  Emphasis is always put on listening to your body, if your feeling beat up – rest.  If your feeling great; push the envelope.  Not everyday at Crossfit needs to be 100% full throttle, lung searing pain.  Those workouts are what Crossfit is famous for, but they aren’t the whole program.
