WOD:
20 double-unders
20 squats
AMRAP 5 min.

Rest 3 min.

10 sit-ups
10 push-ups
AMRAP 5 min.

Rest 3 min.

5 box jumps
5 burpees
AMRAP 5 min.

What the…?  The 6pm crew showing off their mid-line stability.  What is mid-line stability?  And how come you guys don’t “do abs” at CrossFit?  Please feel free to comment

    I don’t usually comment, but I will on this topic. The comment is correct, we don’t have an “ab day” at Crossfit Utility, but we “do abs” everyday that we are at the gym. It seems to me that every exercise and WOD we do hits a variety of muscle groups, but starts at the core! I have done programs where you focus on a different body part each day, and you have ” ab days.” I can tell you from personal experience, as someone who has had a history of a “bad back” that in the last year my core has become stronger than it has ever been and alot of the back pain has gone away. I still get sore occasionally and I still tweek it every now and then, but nothing like when I used to have “ab days!” Thanks Doug…

    100% agree!! I’ve found more mystery muscles in the mid section **WITH OUT** a designated “AB-DAY” than I ever did doing crunches or sit-ups religously and I feel more solid all around!
